This cloud forest is teeming with bromeliads, palm trees, and orchids. Keep your eyes on the road and sky; you might spot parrots, hummingbirds, toucans, and caciques. We will have a packed lunch and then drive to Mindo, where we can pick either to visit a butterfly garden where you will feel the colorful magic of the different butterflies or to do a cacao tour to learn how Ecuador produces some of the best chocolates in the world, from the bean to the bar.Overnight in Mindo.

Prepare to embark on a nature immersion like never before at the 7 Waterfalls Sanctuary in Mindo! Armed with your trusty hiking boots, a lightweight rain jacket, and your swimsuit, you’re equipped for an extraordinary adventure. Here, at the Equatorial Line, where the northern and southern hemispheres meet, you’ll delve into the mysteries of the Coriolis effect and gravitational laws while gaining insights into Ecuador’s history and culture. Get ready for a thrilling day in the Andes at Hacienda El Porvenir! After breakfast, don your ponchos and chaps for a horseback ride through the stunning Cotopaxi region, guided by native experts sharing local legends and history. Keep your eyes up since we may have to spot a Condor with its remarkable 3-meter wingspan. After the ride, it’s time to channel your inner Chagra (Andean cowboy). Learn the art of lassoing a (wooden) cow, just like the skilled Chagras do. In the afternoon we will go for a hike on the trails of the Hacienda, we will get to the conservation program where we can learn about the native trees and their different uses. We will get to the Manto de la Novia waterfall and understand the importance of this ecosystem to then get back to the Hacienda house. Overnight in Cotopaxi.
